Party Time: A Baby Fiesta

Papel picado "Baby Mama" banner from
My mom and I love throwing parties. We usually go overboard and end up really stressed out at the last minute, but boy do we love it. Usually I come up with these very detailed ideas and my mom is the one who has the organization and motivation to make them happen. I think it started with planning my sister's wedding shower, when we set our sights high and baked, not just a few but, seriously like 13 different desserts for the dessert table. Then we helped plan her wedding, which involved packing all of the decorations into suitcases and flying them to her wedding location in Vegas.  Then came my wedding shower and wedding, which we completely made ourselves crazy over (of course) but in the really awesome crazy way. I never understand when people say they aren't stressed out when planning their wedding. That was one of the most stressful times of my life. But totally worth it.

Our latest venture was planning my sister's baby shower.  We decided to make it easier on ourselves by hosting it at the Firefly Grill in Effingham, Illinois. They took care of the food and dishes and we just had to set it all up and decorate. I'm not really sure how the fiesta theme came about. My sister and her husband do love Mexican food, though. And I have been inspired by the blue and green fringe from Ashely Meader's Design*Sponge shoot since before planning my wedding. After the stress of set up and wondering if we would get everything done in time, it turned out to be such a happy day. We are so excited to meet baby boy Martin!

Nick and I designed these onesies for baby boy based off of some that we spotted at Real Baby while in Denver last year.
She is such a cute pregnant lady :)
